Surrendering a Cat

Here at HART, we understand how difficult it is to make the decision to rehome a beloved cat. Sometimes circumstances change, and for factors outside of your control you can find yourself unexpectedly in the position that you can no longer provide the care your cats needs.

Putting the needs and best interest of your cat first, HART can help. Our priority is to offer non-judgemental support and advice to get you and your cat the support you need.

We do our best to help every cat in need, but sometimes we may not be able to help directly. In the event we cannot take on your cat, we will do our best to provide advice, support and other resources that can help you.

As part of our commitment to breaking the cycle of unwanted litters, we will always neuter adult cats free of charge for anyone who surrenders kittens into our care.

Neutering protects mums, prevents future litters, and stops more kittens ending up in crisis. This support is here for anyone who needs it. All we ask is that you don’t sell or give any kittens away.

Just surrender them to us, and let us know how many adult cats you have so we can arrange their free neutering.

We can also help with transport for neutering appointments if getting to us is difficult — no judgement, no barriers, just practical support.

This is how we reduce suffering, one family at a time.
