Rehome an animal

We understand that making the decision to rehome a pet is never easy.

Whether you have a dog, cat, or small animal, changes in circumstances can happen unexpectedly. What matters most is ensuring your pet’s needs continue to be met and that they have the best chance of a safe and suitable future.

At HART, we offer a supportive, non-judgemental approach. Our priority is to understand your situation and help you explore the best possible outcome for you and your pet.

How we can help

If you are considering surrendering your pet, we will:

  • Listen to your situation with understanding and without judgement

  • Assess your pet’s needs and circumstances

  • Provide honest advice and guidance

  • Work to find the most suitable next step for your pet

Where we are able to take an animal into our care, we will support them through foster and rehoming. If we are unable to help directly, we will always aim to offer guidance, resources, or alternative options wherever possible.

Choosing the right path

Every animal and situation is different. Some pets may be suitable for rehoming through us, while others may need alternative support.

Providing clear and honest information helps us make the best decisions for their welfare and ensures they are placed in the most appropriate home.
