Foxy

A gentle, sweet young Welsh Collie seeking a rural home with a confident dog: This loving girl is ready for a quiet life surrounded by affection.

Foxy is a lovely 12-month-old female Welsh Collie looking for a peaceful forever home. She is a kind, loyal, and affectionate girl who thrives in a quiet setting and needs a patient, rural home with a confident resident dog who can give her the self-assurance she needs.

About Foxy

Foxy is a clever, sweet-natured young dog with a gentle heart and a world of potential. Though she can be a little cautious at first, she blossoms wonderfully once she knows she is safe, enjoying human affection and showing just how deeply loyal and devoted she can be once she warms up to you.

She Is:

  • Age & breed: Approximately 12 months old, female Welsh Collie.

  • Great with farm animals & cats: Brilliant with cats, chickens, and livestock, showing a completely faultless demeanor around them.

  • Polite & trainable: House-trained, sleeps perfectly through the night, has good recall, and knows a handful of basic commands.

  • Loyal & affectionate: Can be wary of some people at first (especially men), but warms up quickly to become deeply loyal and loving.

  • Travel & places: Travels okay (though finds it a bit scary) and has never experienced towns or busy places yet.

Her Story

Foxy quickly realised that the busy life of a working farm dog wasn't for her, she simply didn't have the heart for it! Instead, she prefers being a sweet little backup helper, quietly assisting when asked and proving herself completely faultless around livestock, cats, and chickens. Now, she is ready to leave farm work behind and enjoy a peaceful life where she can just be a cherished companion.

Personality & Quirks

Foxy is a gentle, sensitive soul who reads her environment closely and takes her cues from those around her. She relies heavily on a steady canine companion for reassurance, mirroring their confidence beautifully when faced with new situations. At heart, she is a kind, loving girl who enjoys quiet playtime.

  • Canine mirror: A sensitive girl who looks to a steady canine companion for reassurance and mirrors their confidence. She wouldn't suit a nervous dog, as she responds to fear just as strongly.

  • Gentle fun: Enjoys quiet, gentle play and brings a calm presence to her household.

  • Smart & polite: She’s picked up house training, sleeps perfectly through the night, has good recall, and knows a handful of basic commands.

  • Warm & loyal: Foxy can be wary of some people, especially men, but she warms up quickly and becomes incredibly loyal and affectionate.

  • Lead work hurdle: Having never experienced a lead before, she becomes very panicked on one. Calm, steady, confidence-building steps are being taken daily to help her with this.

  • Off-lead preference: Needs a rural home with plenty of safe off-lead walking while her lead confidence grows, avoiding a lead-heavy lifestyle for now.

Her Ideal Home

Foxy will blossom best in a rural, country setting where she can feel completely at ease. She needs a patient, understanding family who can offer her plenty of safe off-lead space to run freely, alongside gentle, everyday encouragement as she works through her lead training at a comfortable pace.

Her setup should include:

  • A confident resident dog: Must live with a steady, self-assured dog who enjoys gentle fun.

  • A rural location: A quiet home away from busy towns, with plenty of safe off-lead space for walks.

  • Patient owners: A peaceful home willing to give her time to warm up to people and help build her lead confidence at her own pace.

A Loyal Companion Ready for Country Life

Foxy is a wonderful girl who deserves a quieter life and as much love as possible. If you have a rural home, a confident dog ready for a companion and the time to help Foxy build her confidence, she would love to meet you!
