Max

Max-Springer-Spaniel-Dog-For-Adoption-With-Hay-Animal-Rescue-Team

Meet Max, a lively and charming Springer Spaniel born in 2018 full of love.

He's currently looking for a rural sanctuary and a very special person who would be willing to foster him with a view to adopt. He is a truly wonderful dog who has faced his medical journey with a happy wagging tail, and he is so ready to find a stable home where he can settle down for the rest of his days.

He has been an absolute pleasure in his foster home, but it’s time for him to settle somewhere permanent and find his forever home.

About Max

Max is a stunning, active Springer Spaniel who is the perfect mix of a traditional working breed and a loyal companion. He has recently been undergoing some essential veterinary treatments to get him completely comfortable and pain-free. Max has already had cruciate surgery on one leg, which has healed beautifully and he is having regular physiotherapy to support his strength.

He is currently on a treatment path that will involve a bit more veterinary care in the near future, which is why he's available as a foster with view to adopt dog.

He is:

  • A male Springer Spaniel born in 2018

  • Looking for a foster-to-adopt or forever home

  • Currently undergoing veterinary care to ensure he is fully pain-free

Personality & Training

Max is a lively, happy lad who simply radiates joy. True to his breed, he is active, intelligent, and absolutely thrives when he is out exploring. He loves a car journey, making him a fantastic partner for trips out, and he gets along well with other dogs, playing happily whenever he gets the chance.

He is:

  • Brilliant off-lead with excellent, reliable recall

  • A joyful, playful companion who loves to run

  • An absolute water baby who completely adores swimming

  • A pleasure to have in the house and deeply loved by his foster carer

While his off-lead focus is fantastic, his lead manners are still a bit of a work in progress. He can pull when he is on the lead, but with consistency, patience, and a bit of guidance, he is improving all the time.

Max’s Medical Journey

Max is currently on the path to being completely pain-free for the first time in years. Having recovered brilliantly from his first cruciate repair, his other leg is due to be operated on soon at Ddole Road Vets. His new family will need to be prepared for his post-operative aftercare and fully committed to following his recovery plan and physio.

He has also recently had his first dental procedure, but unfortunately his teeth were worse than expected, meaning he will likely need a second dental procedure soon to get his mouth perfectly healthy. While it means more surgery for this brave boy, the positive is that we are tackling his discomfort head-on so he can live his best life. All of his veterinary care is paving the way for a bright, comfortable future.

Ideal Home for Max

Max is a rural at heart dog who needs an outdoor-focused environment that matches his lifestyle and roots. He would be the perfect dog for a farm, a smallholding, or a livery yard.

His perfect home would:

  • Be situated in a rural or semi-rural setting

  • Be located within a reasonable distance of Llandrindod Wells to be able to take him to Ddole Road Vets for his upcoming procedures and ongoing care

  • Be committed to managing his upcoming cruciate surgery aftercare and rehabilitation

  • Be a home with no young children, due to his history

  • Be a place with plenty of space for him to enjoy his retirement once healed

Max is incredible boy who's completely reliable around livestock and cats.

That Special Someone

Max has been a patient, trusting boy through his surgeries and dental work, and his foster carer will be incredibly sad to see him go. What Max needs now is a dedicated friend to help him through the final stages of his recovery so he can enjoy the active, peaceful life he deserves.

If you live in a rural spot, love the spaniel character and are within travelling distance of Llandrindod Wells to support Max through his upcoming veterinary procedures, please get in touch. You won't regret giving this beautiful lad his chance.
