Topo has worked incredibly hard in foster care, transforming from a dog who struggled with the world around him into one who now enjoys the company of other dogs, settles well in a calm routine, and continues to build confidence with new people.
About Topo
Topo was born in 2018 and sadly endured a very difficult and traumatic start to life, including abuse and starvation as a puppy. After being fostered in Gran Canaria, he later came to the UK in 2020 (not through our rescue). While he has been loved and cared for, he has struggled in more confined environments and is now searching for something very specific: a peaceful, rural home where he can truly relax.
He is a small, athletic boy (around 11–12kg), full of character and potential, who needs space, understanding, and patience.
Topo’s Progress & Personality
Topo has made huge strides during his time in foster care:
Now social and comfortable living with other dogs
Thriving in structured daycare and boarding environments
Showing ongoing improvement with meeting new people
Affectionate and loyal once he builds trust
Enjoys gentle walks and exploring at his own pace
When he feels safe, Topo is loving, affectionate, and enjoys quiet companionship.
Topo’s Ideal Home
Quiet, rural location only
Adult-only home (16+) with calm, predictable routines
Can live with other dogs or confident, dog-savvy cats
Not suitable for homes with livestock
Highly secure garden required (he is an excellent jumper and escape artist)
Patience, understanding, and time to decompress and settle
He is always walked on lead and is happiest when he can explore safely at his own pace, with the option to create space for himself if he feels overwhelmed.

Topo has already shown us what he can do with the right support - and he continues to surprise us with his progress. What he needs now is not pressure, but patience; not a busy life, but a calm one.
In the right rural home, with security, stability, and kindness, Topo has every chance to fully blossom.
