About Vera
Vera is a tiny, rough-coated terrier, around miniature Jack Russell size, who is a gem in every possible way. Steady, sweet and on the mend after her recent surgery. She is so incredibly deserving of a special family who understands her gentle, quirky ways.
She Is:

Vera’s Story
Although Vera originally came from a loving home, she came into our care under tragic, emergency circumstances after suffering a critical burst tumour that left her fighting for her life.
Her survival is a true testament to her incredible spirit, but she could not have done it alone. The exceptionally generous donations from the HART community quite literally saved her life at her most vulnerable time and this incredible support funded her vital emergency treatment, as well as her subsequent operations, ensuring she can now enjoy the rest of her golden years free from pain.
She is currently thriving in her foster home, with her final stitches due to come out next week, and she will soon be ready to start her brand-new chapter.
Personality & Quirks
Vera is a delightfully independent lady who knows exactly what she wants out of life, and at her age, she has earned the right to be a bit cheeky! She is a truly delightful mix of quiet affection and senior terrier charm, looking for a routine built entirely around comfort, kindness, and plenty of love.
A professional snoozer: Her main goal is finding a soft place to rest, with your bed or the sofa being her absolute top choices.
A snack lover: Food is a major priority, and she highly appreciates a steady stream of tasty treats.
Cheeky recall: Her recall is good, though she occasionally prefers to "take a message and get back to you."
Social Style & Compatibility
Vera is an incredibly easy house guest who fits beautifully into a calm, steady environment. She is an exceptionally social little lady who has fantastic manners around all kinds of animals, making her a wonderful addition to a multi-pet home or a farm environment.
Brilliant with cats: She has lived happily alongside several cats with absolutely no issues.
Great with other dogs: Vera currently lives happily among many dogs in her foster home. She is very social but like most well-rounded dogs, she does like her personal space respected and she will appropriately tell an enthusiastic puppy when she has simply had enough.
Farm and livestock friendly: She is completely fine around livestock and makes a lovely, placid little companion to have around a farm environment.
