Urgent Call for Foster Carers!
We can help more animals if we have more foster carers - our current foster homes are already overflowing!
Can You help?
💚 Have you got a room spare in your house? One that could accommodate a few kittens in need?
💚 Many of our kittens just need some TLC and socialisation, to prepare them for adoption. Being a foster carer is such a wonderful opportunity to provide animals with a safe space to grow, until they are ready to go off to their forever homes.
💚 You will receive support and advice from us, and our network of other foster carers.
A few things to consider
💚 Any dog in the home must be 100% cat savvy.
💚 Cat savvy children are a must too, as the kittens are often tiny, so will need gentle handling.
💚 Previous experience preferred, but not essential.
💚 You must be able to keep the kittens secure in the home, they must not be able to escape outside.

Dog/ Puppy Fostering
A safe home. A second chance. A life changed.
Fostering is one of the most powerful ways to help a dog in need. When you open your home temporarily, you give a dog safety, stability, and love at a time they need it most. You also create space in rescue for the next dog who needs urgent help — a ripple effect that saves lives.
💛 What fostering means
Providing a short‑term home for a dog until they’re ready for adoption
Offering routine, comfort, and kindness — especially for dogs recovering from stress, neglect, or upheaval
Helping a dog learn (or remember) what it feels like to be part of a family
Giving us vital space to rescue more dogs in crisis
🌟 Why fostering matters
Many dogs struggle in kennels; a home environment helps them relax, decompress, and show their true personalities
Foster homes are essential for dogs recovering from illness, injury, or surgery
Fostering dramatically improves a dog’s chance of finding the right forever home
🧡 What we provide
Every foster carer is fully supported.
All essential vet care is covered
Behavioural support and guidance are available whenever needed
We provide equipment and supplies so you can focus on care, not cost
🏡 Who can foster?
Fostering is flexible and accessible.
You don’t need specialist experience — just patience, empathy, and a safe home
We match each dog to the right foster home based on your lifestyle and experience
Children, other pets, work schedules — none of these are barriers. We work with you to find the right fit
⏳ How long is a foster placement?
It varies. Some dogs need a few days of rest; others need a few weeks or months. You can take breaks whenever you need to.
🌱 The impact you make
Foster carers often describe the experience as one of the most rewarding things they’ve ever done. You’re not “just” looking after a dog — you’re giving them the first chapter of their new life.
Fostering Criteria
Fostering a dog is one of the most meaningful ways to help an animal in need. Our foster carers provide safety, stability, and love while we find each dog their forever home. We welcome foster carers from all walks of life — you don’t need a perfect home, just a safe one and a willingness to care.
Below is what we look for when placing a dog in foster:
What You Need to Foster:
A Safe, Secure Home
A home where a dog can live safely and comfortably
A secure garden or outdoor space is helpful but not essential
Time & Availability
Enough time each day for feeding, exercise, and companionship
Ability to attend vet appointments when needed (we cover costs)
Must be able to take the dog to Ddole Road Vets in Llandrindod Wells for routine and emergency care
Willingness to communicate updates so we can support you and find the right adopter
Stability & Reliability
A calm, predictable environment where a dog can settle
Commitment to caring for the dog until adoption or agreed transfer
Openness to follow our guidance and welfare standards
Children, Pets & Households
We believe fostering should be accessible. Children, other dogs, and even cats are not barriers — we simply match each dog to the right home.
We will only place dogs who are suitable for homes with children
We will only place dog‑friendly dogs with resident dogs
We will always be honest about a dog’s needs so you can make an informed decision
