Evan - Reserved
A tiny 9-week-old puppy looking for his future: This bright, people-focused little lad is looking for his forever family.
Meet Evan! Before his fosterer gets too attached, it is time to introduce this tiny 9-week-old lad who is ready to start looking for his home.
He’s believed to be a Shih Tzu x Poodle, with possibly a touch of Cavalier. He is a small, intelligent velcro puppy, who is happiest when included in daily life.
About Evan
Evan is a tiny 9-week-old lad who weighed under 1kg on arrival. Though small, this brave little boy takes new experiences right in his stride. He is already used to travelling, loves his walkies, and is fully accustomed to normal household noises.
He’s believed to be a Shih Tzu cross Poodle with potentially a touch of Cavalier, he is a bright, people-focused velcro dog who is happiest glued to his humans. He needs a home dedicated to continue his training, who will embrace both his intelligence and his high coat maintenance, alongside taking careful precautions for his extremely small size.
He is:
An tiny, affectionate 9-week old velcro puppy
Breed expectations: Shih Tzu x Poodle (possibly Cavalier), expected to be a small, intelligent boy with high grooming needs.
Size and safety: Tiny, fast, and curious, needing a thoroughly puppy-proofed home.
Time commitment: Needs a home 100% committed to a puppy, with plenty of time, company, structure, and regular outings.
Personality & Quirks
Evan is a typical puppy in the best possible way: he chews things, steals shoes and acts like a joyful tiny menace! He needs a home that understands this puppy stage is completely normal and shaped through consistent boundaries and positive training. House training is a work in progress; he understands the concept, but with a bladder the size of a thimble, he needs trips outside roughly every 45 minutes!
Children: He plays with his fosterer's young daughter with confidence and understanding beyond his age. However, he is tiny - inappropriate or unmonitored play could be dangerous for him.
Cats: Loves cats, they don’t necessarily love him, but he’s not an issue! He reads their signals brilliantly, backing off the moment they say "no more." A home with cats should still provide safe separation so the cats can choose their level of interaction.
Other dogs: He is happy around any and every dog, learning excellent social skills and understanding when some dogs don’t appreciate puppy play.
His Ideal Home
Evan needs a home that is 100% committed to the rewarding, hands-on routine of raising a puppy properly. Because he is so young and tiny, moulding him into a confident, well-adjusted adult dog requires plenty of time, patience, and consistent daily structure.
His new family must be ready to embrace the busy realities of puppyhood, from his frequent toilet breaks to his ongoing socialisation, while providing a safe, positive environment where this bright little lad can truly thrive.
His perfect setup should include:
Company and routine: Adopters who are around throughout the day to manage his 45-minute toilet routine, company, and socialisation. He cannot be left for 8 hours a day - no full‑time office workers unless he can come with you.
Forward-thinking safety: Because of his size, puppy‑proofing is essential. He’s small, fast, curious and into everything, so a safe environment and forward‑thinking home are crucial.
Dog savvy children: Any children must understand he is not a toy, must handle him gently, and must understand that puppies can nip.
Doggy role model: Evan would benefit from an existing dog who is balanced, well‑rounded and able to teach him valuable life skills.
Matching midset: He currently sleeps on his fosterer's bed to feel safe, as he is raised with gradual crate training and no cry-it-out methods – We're looking for a home with a similar mindset, who are committed to positive reward-based training.
A Clever & Attached Young Companion
Evan is a bright, sensitive young pup who thrives on human companionship and is always happiest right by your side, whether he is learning new things or settling down for a quiet rest.
Raising such a tiny, intelligent dog is a deeply rewarding experience, but it requires a family with the time, patience, and dedication to guide him properly during these vital early stages. If you have the commitment and gentle mindset needed to give this sweet velcro puppy the very best start in life, Evan would love to meet you.
