Roo & Zelda
A gentle, bonded pair of sisters seeking a rural haven: These sweet country girls are ready for a peaceful home where they can relax and enjoy some creature comforts.
Meet Roo and Zelda, a beautiful pair of bonded tabby sisters who arrived in rescue alongside their littermates Winston, Spot, Bibi and Beatrix.
Having come from a rural background where life was all about survival, they look to each other for reassurance and are still learning how wonderful life with humans can be.
With a bit of time and patience, this charming pair will make a deeply rewarding addition to a quiet country home.
About Roo & Zelda
Roo and Zelda are a sweet pair of young tabby sisters who are roughly 4 months old. They share a close, supportive bond and are often cuddled up together observing the rest of the litter. Little Roo is the smallest of her six brothers and sisters, and she relies heavily on her bolder sister Zelda for reassurance and security as she adjusts to a new and much more comfortable way of living.
They are:
Roo: The little sister of the litter, a dark brown classic tabby who is petite and cautious, but is making steady progress every day.
Zelda: A beautiful tabby girl with a distinctive white blaze down her nose, white chest and paws, who leads the way in accepting affection.
A bonded pair: Inseparable sisters who bring out the best in each other.
Country girls: Part of a big rural litter (alongside Winston & Spot) looking for a rural home.
Ready for applications: Flea-treated, wormed and neutered.
Personality & Quirks
While both sisters are still learning to fully relax after their rural start in life, their individual personalities are starting to shine through beautifully. Stripey Zelda is the bolder sister and already enjoys receiving gentle strokes from her fosterer. While Little Roo takes a bit more time to feel secure and might give a soft initial hiss out of habit, but her bravery shows as she happily eats tasty chicken right from your hand. Unsurprisingly, both girls share a massive fondness for chicken, which has proven to be the ultimate way to win their sweet hearts!
Zelda's confidence: Outgoing and enjoys gentle stroking as she settles in, she’s still learning to relax herself, but eagerly showing her sister the way.
Roo's bravery: Takes reassurance from Zelda and will happily eat chicken directly from your hand. She’s slowly building trust and is learning that humans aren’t quite so scary by watching her siblings learn to enjoy affection.
Favourite treat: Both sisters love chicken and it’s helped their patient fosterer build a strong bond with the whole litter, allowing them to quickly learn the kindness and love humans have to offer.
Their Ideal Home
Roo and Zelda are looking for a quiet rural setup where they can transition at their own pace from survival mode to a life of luxury. They would love a peaceful home that offers the perfect balance of safe outdoor space, alongside plenty of outbuilding to explore and create comforts to enjoy.
Their perfect setup:
A rural location: A peaceful rural setting with gardens or quiet, safe outdoor spaces for them to explore once they’ve settled in.
Patient adopters: Understanding humans who are comfortable with shy kittens and will give Roo the time she needs to finish settling in.
Creature comforts: Soft beds, plenty of warm spots to relax and a regular supply of fresh chicken.
A Special Rural Pair Worth Waiting For
Roo and Zelda have come so far alongside their brothers and sisters since coming into the care of HART. Now they simply need a patient sanctuary to call their own while they finish learning how to fully relax around humans.
Watching little Roo grow in confidence alongside her brave sister Zelda will bring so much joy to the lucky family that welcomes them. If you have a peaceful rural home and space in your heart for these two lovely girls, they would love to meet you.
